RECIPE: New England Country Style Ribs


Edible Autumn! These slow cooker ribs taste like fall. Slow cooked with Allspice and apples, this aromatic dish is a slam dunk. Serve them up with a maple BBQ sauce (recipe also listed) and enjoy! Comfort food...New England Style!

RIBS
3-4 lbs. boneless country style spare ribs
1 large yellow onion
2 Granny Smith apples
1 tbs. ground cinnimon
1 tbs. allspice
1 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. sea salt
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • Slice onion and cover the bottom of the slow cooker with slices
  • Place your ribs into the slow cooker
  • Mix cinnimon, allspice, salt, and pepper in bowl
  • Sprinkle mixture evenly over ribs (use entire amount of available mixture)
  • Core and slice apples and place slices on top of seasoned ribs
  • Add vinegar to the bottom of cooker
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours
  • ENJOY!
MAPLE BBQ SAUCE

1 cup ketchup
1 cup maple syrup
1 cup of white onion
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
2 tbs. olive oil
3 cloves of pressed garlic
2 lbs. worcestershire sauce
Pinch of salt
1/2 teaspoon of coriander
  • heat oil in skillet
  • add onion and garlic and cook until clear
  • place onions, garlic, and remaining ingredients in sauce pan
  • heat until boiling, reduce heat to simmer uncovered
  • simmer for 20 minutes or until desired consistency
  • ENJOY!

  1. Just coated my pork tenderloin the Maple BBQ Sauce. 1.5 lb roast, at 400, for 40 minutes. I brushed on the sauce and included some baby carrots. The carrots sucked in all the flavor....it was great!
