Squash of all kinds can be found "on the cheap" in your local grocery stores. If you're lucky, you might be able to grab them fresh from a farm stand. Acorn Squash are one of my favorites! Here is an easy way to make a delicious autumn squash (BONUS: it makes your house smell really "FALL-Y").
2 acorn squash
pinch of salt
2 tsp cinnamon
3/4 cup brown sugar
4 tbs. butter
1/2 cup water
- rinse squash and cut in half
- place 1 tbs. of butter in each squash half
- distribute cinnamon and brown sugar evenly amongst the squash
- individually wrap each squash half with heavy duty foil
- place squash halves in slow cooker and add water
- cook on HIGH for 4 hours, or until tender
- ENJOY!
