RECIPE: National S'mores Day Fondue

Happy National S'mores Day! If you've ever gone camping, I would guess one of the first items on your "pack list" was the fixens for the S'mores. Toasted Marshmallows, Graham Crackers, and Chocolate combine to form the traditional treat. The Girl Scouts are given credit for the campfire favorite, being the first to have published the recipe in 1927 (from wikipedia). In celebration of the holiday, the King has created a special "S'MORES FONDUE" that takes the campfire flavors to your slow cooker. I hope you enjoy.

24 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
12 oz. dark chocolate bits
2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 cup of evaporated milk
1/3 cup white granulated sugar
2 cups coarsely crushed graham crackers
marshmallows for dipping (CAMPFIRE brand MARSHMALLOWS are the BEST!)

  • Place all ingredients (except crackers and marshmallows) in slow cooker
  • Cook on HIGH for 45 minutes
  • Stir contents (be sure to scrape from side with rubber spatula)
  • Cook another 45 minutes on HIGH
  • Add graham crackers crumbles, stir
  • Place marshmallows on skewers, dip, and ENJOY!
