RECIPE: Pizza Fondue

PIZZA FONDUE

1 lb lean ground beef
1 lb hot Italian sausage (casing removed)
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1.5 cups grated Mozzarella
1 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp sweet basil
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 can sliced mushrooms
2 cups tomato sauce (the sweeter the sauce, the better)
  • Brown beef and sausage well
  • Drain fat
  • Combine ground beef with all other ingredients in the slow cooker
  • Cook on LOW for 3 hours
Serve this as a dip for an hearty party appetizer or as a meal.
Get creative with your dippers! some suggestions: cubed scali bread, bread sticks, bell pepper slices, mozzarella sticks.
