RECIPE: Supreme Honey Wings (not from Buffalo)

WELCOME BASEBALL SEASON!

An opening day baseball party this weekend? How about some WINGS for your guests.

With the CRAZY popularity of Buffalo wings (the hotter the better) the other "brands" of chicken wings have found themselves neglected. Honey glazed, sweet and sour, teriyaki... there are PLENTY of options for wing preparation.

This is a unique (and of course, delicious) recipe for SUPREME HONEY WINGS

5 pounds chicken wings, tips cut and discarded
2 cups Honey
1 cup soy sauce
1 cup ketchup
salt and pepper to taste
2 cloves of garlic (pressed)
1/4 cup vegetable oil
Sesame seeds

  • Broil wings 5 inches from broiler for 10 minutes. This step is critical for the wings to keep their flavor.
  • Place the wings in a slow cooker
  • Mix the rest of the ingredients (except sesame seeds), pour over chicken
  • Cook wings on LOW for 5 hours. If you do cook on high, you may cause the honey to burn, so cook low and slow
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds for garnish
ENJOY!
